Well, well, well. You know when you take a punt on a different takeaway than usual and hope for the best? That was us tonight and it totally paid off. We were supposed to be making mushroom, pancetta and spinach pizzas- which we were really excited about!- but in a fit of really shit timing, both my wife and I are hobbling around with bad backs and couldn’t face any more standing up.
So, this absolutely epic feast from Bimmi’s Punjabi Tadka based in Dronfield saved the evening. A small, family business, Bimmi’s offer a fixed menu on the days they’re open, which they post on their Facebook page around 10am for delivery or collection that evening. I’m not 100% sure on their delivery radius, but worth a drive in the car to collect if they don’t deliver to you!
Tonight’s set menu for two included poppadoms, onion bhajis, mint sauce, chicken jalfrezi, butter chicken, dum aloo, pilau rice and egg rice, all for just £17.99 (we paid £21 incl. delivery). Everything was super-fresh, the spices were incredible and the sauces were so rich and flavourful.
Thanks @eatupyorkshire for the hot tip on this local gem. We’ll definitely be ordering again!
