If you’re stuck for foodie inspo this weekend, I highly recommend you hot-foot it down to Cutlery Works and check out new kid on the block, Rad Dude (they are also on Instagram). Which is just what we did last Saturday.
Thus, we now know just how awesome Rad Dude’s Shrimp Po Boy is. I mean, just look at it. Packed with colour and flavour, it’s bursting with crispy fried coconut shrimp, kimchi, salad & gochugaru mayo. It’s on a linseed sub roll which manages somehow to be fluffy and beautiful, yet robust enough to hold it together and not disintegrate while you tackle this beast of a sandwich.
As of this week, it’s served with crinkle cut wedges (not fries as pictured) and a pot of the signature Rad Dude sauce- which is incredible.
Another friend tried their Cuban sandwich yesterday and rates it highly, and I’m massively intrigued about the lasagne sandwich on the menu as a special at the moment. It truly is Rad Food for Rad Dudes.
Also, the “Kids Eat Free” summer holiday offer at Cutlery Works is amazing! After a morning exploring Calke Abbey, baby girl (ok, toddler girl) absolutely smashed her Rad Dude grilled cheese sandwich and we couldn’t believe it was completely free. And just look at that cheese pull! I ate most of the pickle that came with it, but she loved the few bites of it that she tried.
Check out the Kids Eat Free highlight on Cutlery Works’ Instagram page for what the offering is from each vendor. It’s only with the purchase of an adult meal from that vendor (or a £6 minimum spend at Bullion).
Oh, and Cutlery Works have got Covid-safety nailed down. It’s one of the best eating out experiences we’ve had in that respect.
